Inoculating Biochar

A big part of what makes biochar so amazing is it’s ability to hold nutrients and provide safe harbor for beneficial microbes. By now you know biochar can be made at home, and can remain in soils for hundreds of years. However, for best immediate benefits, it’s generally understood that biochar should be pre-loaded with ‘the right biology’ before application. We’ll explore a variety of techniques for effective biochar inoculation, including composting, vermicomposting, compost tea and more.
