Dear Friends,

Living Web Farms is watching our situation with coronavirus closely, and considering measures to serve our community.

First, our staff is working with instructors to postpone or potentially livestream workshops. This determination is being made on a case by case basis. As of now, our next workshop on Growing Tropical Perennials as Temperate Annuals is postponed, with a new date TBD. As the situation with COVID-19 unfolds, our event staff will work with teachers to make determinations on future spring courses. Our other courses, between now and July 25th will be livestreamed with no audience, and we are thrilled that we can still deliver this content to you.  During this time, we recognize that information on resilient living is vital, and we are a leading source of that information. We urge you to turn to our archived videos, and audio resources during this time for learning.

Additionally, our full staff is engaging to determine ways in which Living Web Farms can provide support to our community as the COVID pandemic unfolds. For sure, we plan to ramp up our production of food and medicine this season and donate it to our partners for distribution to those in need.  None of us are sure what’s to come, but we do know that within our community we have incredible skills, knowledge and resources for living. Our commitment to providing life-giving food and education remains strong at this time, and we would like to plan according to community need.

Please reach out to us directly if you have specific needs or thoughts during this time. As we plug in with other local organizations and service providers, we will do our best to determine how to meet the community’s ongoing needs. We are also working with Cooperate WNC and WNC Mutual Aid to network service providers in the area.

While this is a trying time for many of us, and so many are more vulnerable that we can know, there is an opportunity here to galvanize systems on the local scale that support people and land indefinitely. We recognize that our work is more important now than ever, and we are striving to move toward coordinated progress calmly and positively during this time.

Best wishes,

The LWF Team
